SUMMER INTENSIVE 2024

May 30 – June 1 and June 3 – June 5

For: Inter/Adv dancers, Age 12 and up.

At: QEB downtown studio, St. Peter’s Church, 1317 Queen Emma St. Honolulu

Cost: $430 for 6 days, 10am-3:30pm

Ms. Minou Lallemand was born in Colombia and grew up in New York City. She trained at the Neubert Ballet Institute and graduated from the New York High School of the Performing Arts while on scholarship at the Joffrey Ballet School. During her performing career she danced with companies such as Ballet Arizona, Garden State Ballet, Princeton Ballet, Eglevsky Ballet, Connecticut Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Chicago, and Ballet Hawaii. Minou was the artistic director of Queen Emma Ballet and was on faculty at the University of Hawaii and at Shenandoah University. She now resides in Buffalo, NY and is currently a guest choreographer for the University at Buffalo and is teaching at Neglia Ballet, Configuration Dance Theater, and Suzanne’s School Dance. She will be receiving her Master of Fine Arts in choreography from Wilson College in May 2024.  We are excited to have her teaching ballet technique and ballet repertoire and variations (5/30-6/1).

Ms. Julie Voshell Julie Voshell studied dance and graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts. Her professional dance career began at North Carolina Dance Theater, and as she continued to dance, she moved to New York City. During her professional dancing career, she danced with Connecticut Ballet, Manhattan Ballet, Jennifer Muller/ The Works, Dances, Patrelle, and Donald byrd/ The Group. Julie was also dance captain for Twyla Tharp in the Broadway show Movin’ Out. She has taught dance classes at Broadway Dance Center, Steps, and Dance New Amsterdam. She currently teaches both children and adults at Ballet Academy East. We are thrilled to have her teaching Contemporary Ballet technique (6/3-6/5) and Contemporary Repertoire (5/30-6/1 and 6/3-6/5).

Afternoon classes taught by gifted instructors, Ms. Katelyn Wyatt, Ms. Aya Duong, and Ms. Celia Chun will include Hip Hop, Pointe, and Broadway Jazz.
